Hot Noise Art Show

We did it! After an entire year of Hot Noise, we held an exhibition inside of DARPA at the ILY2 too space at the Lloyd Center in Portland, Oregon. It ran from Aug 5th - Aug 12th  with a closing party on the final day.

Check out photos of the show below, and be sure to watch our films—all online now!

Most of our “films” played on a loop in a projector room.

Prompt posters, animation frames and other process work.

Soft-sculptural curtain with bubble wrap accents, curtesy of DARPA, led into the “bedroom” area.

On a smaller screen, we showcased little snippets of animation that were not necessarily tied to the voicemails.

The show evolved over the course of the week, with new additions daily, like the dregs a creamy beverage in a to-go cup on the dresser. Yum.

Russ Musser created the bed canopy, including textiles with their signature soft clown characters. Beck airbrushed the blankets. More hand-drawn frames on are the wall.

When sitting on the bed, you could watch our film “Bedmaker’s Anonymous” on an analogue tv.

We also showed the clothes we painted to raise money and some of the visual inspiration that we had pinned up on our studio walls.

Hand drawn frames from Aging Gracefully, Hot Dog Sex, and Bedmakers Anonymous.

We also invited viewers to step into a little private room and answer prompts by leaving messages on a cassette tape deck.

They could go in alone or with a friend, and answer any of our original prompts.

Phone Tour!

And that’s a wrap!
